HACIENDA SAN PEDRO

Jayuya, Puerto Rico

About

Emeterio Atienza was a young Spaniard who arrived at the shores of Puerto Rico. Emeterio became an excellent laborer who grew through the ranks of one of the most prestigious haciendas of coffee in the island at the time. Emeterio would also become a respected professor of agriculture.

In 1931, Emeterio bought his own farm in Jayuya, P.R. and gave it the name Hacienda San Pedro. Every morning at dawn, he would ride his horse along with his seven children, to check on the coffee trees around the hacienda one by one. This same coffee is still cultivated today by his grandson Roberto Atienza, honoring a tradition that has been practiced by four generations.

Hacienda San Pedro Coffee possesses a seductive, rich, soft and velvety flavor that entices the palate. It has a classic caramel semi-sweet aroma, with delicate chocolate overtones and a soft hint of aromatic spices, particularly sage and rosemary.
